You will find it in every travel guides - the Wiener Prater. The history behind this place makes it unique and much more interesting than it actually is. Many authors and composers have immortalized their impressions of the Prater both in literature and in music. I enjoyed discovering the Prater from 1937 through the book from Robert Seethaler "Der Trafikant".
The park never stopped attracting me. Theme parks, as imaginary world, generally draw a sense of happiness, where childhood dreams and fantasies can be met and appeased. As for myself, Prater brings out something different, gloomy and drab at times or poetic and dreamy at others.
